Who We Are
We are a dedicated group of believers at Bible Truth Baptist Church, committed to serving the Lord and our community. Our team is passionate about preaching God’s Word, fostering spiritual growth, and supporting one another through all stages of life. Together, we strive to make a lasting impact for Christ.
Our Pastor: James Ward
Pastor
James was born in Summersville, WV and relocated to Virginia with his family when he was five years old. Bro. James Ward was saved on June 7, 1994, at the age of twelve and called to preach as a teenager. He later attended Bible College located in FL. He served in many ways at his home church to include bus ministry, nursing home ministry, street preaching, soul winning, music director, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Pastor, and assistant pastor. In January of 2024, the Lord saw fit and led James to start Bible Truth Baptist Church located in Ruckersville, VA.
The Ward family resides in Madison, VA. Pastor James is joined in the ministry with his wife, Chastity and their two children, Maggie and Molly. Bro. Ward loves his family and enjoys serving the Lord with them.
In his spare time, Pastor James enjoys spending time with his previous family, college football, hunting, and being outdoors.

Johanan and Taylor
BTB Kids Leaders
Both Johanan and Taylor accepted Christ when they were young. They served in children’s ministries as teenagers and young adults. After they met, Johanan completed his terminal degree in graphic design while Taylor studied Bible exposition at seminary. Following graduation, they moved to Virginia, and the Lord brought them to Bible Truth Baptist Church. They started BTB Kids in January 2025. Together, they pray that BTB Kids will lead children to know God and accept Christ as Savior.
